The Ministry of Education and Sports has confirmed that the 2025 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examination results will be officially released on Friday, February 13, 2026. The announcement will be made by Janet Museveni at State House Nakasero, following her latest consultative meeting with officials from the Uganda National Examinations Board.
This year’s release marks a break from the ministry’s long-standing procedure—the UCE results will be published while Senior One placement is still ongoing, a move aimed at making the transition from O-Level smoother and faster for learners.
The national Senior One placement exercise started today, February 12, at Lugogo, and will conclude on February 13. Releasing the results during the placement period is expected to enhance coordination between schools and placement teams, and reduce delays experienced in previous years.
A total of 432,159 learners registered for the 2025 UCE exams, reflecting a 12.1% increase from the previous examination cycle. This steady rise highlights the growing number of students progressing through the lower secondary level.
The upcoming results represent the second round of examinations conducted under the new Lower Secondary Competency-Based Curriculum, which blends school-based assessments with national exams.

20% of the final score is drawn from Continuous Assessment (CA) submitted by schools.

80% is based on the UNEB-administered final exam.
UNEB has emphasized that schools strictly adhered to the curriculum’s guidelines, ensuring that competency-based learning and assessment continue to take root across the country.
As the release date approaches, candidates will be able to access their results through official UNEB channels, while schools will receive breakdowns for placement finalization. The ministry says the new coordinated timeline will help schools prepare better for admissions and the 2026 academic year.
