The family of late BBS Terefayina presenter Joseph Sseruwooza has announced the burial arrangements for the renowned journalist, who passed away in the early hours of Thursday.
According to family members, Sseruwooza died at around 4:00 a.m. on Friday after developing complications related to ulcers and a blood clot. He breathed his last at the Mulago Heart Institute, where he had been referred after his condition worsened on Thursday night.
Before being transferred to Mulago, the veteran broadcaster had been receiving treatment at Gombe Medical Centre in Mengo.
Family members revealed that a vigil will be held on Friday at his parents’ home in Kabuusu, Lubaga Division, near the Kabuusu roundabout, where relatives, friends, and well-wishers are expected to gather and pay their last respects.
On Saturday morning, his body will be taken to Lubaga Cathedral for a requiem mass and prayers before the journey to Rakai District for burial preparations.
Sseruwooza will be laid to rest on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Bwenziteere Village, Lwamaggwa Sub-county, Rakai District.
The late journalist was widely known for hosting the popular Zuukuka N’ensonga program on BBS Terefayina, where he earned admiration for his insightful discussions and dedication to informing the public.
His death has left a huge void in Uganda’s media fraternity, with colleagues, friends, and viewers mourning a man remembered for his professionalism, humility, and commitment to journalism.
