A rare rear view of outgoing Parliament Speaker Anita Among’s sprawling residence in Kigo, Wakiso District, has stirred widespread discussion online after footage emerged showing investigators and security operatives conducting ongoing searches at the property.
The luxury residence, located in the affluent lakeside suburb of Kigo, is among several properties currently under scrutiny by joint security agencies following the launch of investigations into Among’s wealth, asset declarations and alleged corruption-related dealings.
Information gathered from sources familiar with the property indicates that the mansion contains multiple basement levels, including a designated parking section and another lower basement reportedly fitted with a private gym, sauna and cinema hall.
The footage, which has since circulated widely on social media platforms, also shows armed operatives and detectives moving through different sections of the residence as investigations continue.
According to sources at the site, the first floor features a red-carpeted guest reception area leading to what is believed to be Among’s private office space. A third-floor section is reportedly under restricted access and reserved exclusively for the former Speaker. The residence is also said to contain an internal lift system connecting various sections of the mansion.
Beyond the main compound, investigators were reportedly seen inspecting a newly developed extension of the property that was, by May 17, undergoing leveling works ahead of planned beautification. There were also unverified claims that a Rolls-Royce Cullinan linked to the politician was parked within the additional section of the compound.
The developments come at a politically sensitive moment for Among, who has in recent days faced mounting pressure both politically and legally following intensified scrutiny over her wealth and lifestyle.

Joint security teams comprising officers from the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID), military intelligence and other state agencies on Saturday expanded operations to Among’s residences in Kigo, Ntinda and Nakasero as part of wider investigations into alleged illicit enrichment, money laundering and abuse of office.
The Inspectorate of Government (IGG) recently confirmed receipt of a petition filed by lawyers and activists seeking investigations into Among’s wealth declarations under the Leadership Code Act. The petition accuses the former Speaker of possible under-declaration of assets and unexplained accumulation of wealth.
Public attention intensified further following reports about Among’s alleged acquisition of a 2025 Rolls-Royce Cullinan estimated to cost billions of shillings, a development that sparked debate among Ugandans over accountability and public officials’ display of wealth.
The investigations are unfolding against the backdrop of the upcoming Speaker of Parliament race for the 12th Parliament, with reports indicating that political pressure has continued to mount within the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).
Among, who previously faced sanctions from both the United States and the United Kingdom over corruption-related allegations, has consistently denied wrongdoing.
