Kingdom Media has issued a strong response to allegations made by Pastor Robert Kayanja accusing Kingdom TV of spreading false information regarding an ongoing court case linked to Rubaga Miracle Centre.
In a press statement released on Thursday, Kingdom Media said it had taken note of a video circulating on social media, reportedly originating from Channel 44, in which Pastor Kayanja accuses the station of misrepresenting facts about proceedings at Mwanga II Magistrate Court.
The media house dismissed the claims, maintaining that its reporting was accurate and based strictly on court proceedings.
“Kingdom TV drew its report directly from the testimony of the police forensic expert presented in court on March 19, 2026,” the statement read.
Kingdom Media further revealed that during a subsequent court session on March 23, 2026, State Attorney Jonathan Muwaganya questioned the authenticity of the station’s report, prompting the video clip in question to be played in court for verification.
According to the statement, the police forensic expert, Mr Enock Kanene, reviewed the report in court and confirmed that the facts had been accurately reported by Kingdom TV’s court correspondent.
The broadcaster also referenced earlier allegations made by Pastor Kayanja in February 2024, in which he claimed that Bishop David Livingstone Kiganda and other pastors had conspired to frame him. At the time, Kayanja reportedly presented a phone matrix alleging that Bishop Kiganda had made over 1,486 calls to suspects in a single day.
Kingdom Media noted that these claims led them to closely follow the court proceedings. However, they pointed out that a challenge issued by Bishop Kiganda on February 26, 2024, demanding proof of the alleged calls, has not yet been substantiated.
Additionally, the media house clarified that court rules issued in 2024 barred the use of video and audio recording devices during sessions. This, they said, explains why some of the visuals used in their news reports may appear repetitive.
“As Kingdom TV, we strictly adhere to Uganda Communications Commission guidelines and remain committed to providing accurate, professional, and responsible reporting,” the statement emphasized.
The broadcaster reaffirmed its commitment to keeping the public informed on developments in the case.
