Mukono District Woman Member of Parliament and Shadow Minister for Information and Anti-Corruption, Sheilah Amaniyo, has expressed gratitude to renowned man of God Bishop David Kiganda following a meeting in which the cleric offered prayers, guidance, and words of wisdom as she embarks on her responsibilities in Uganda’s 12th Parliament.
In a message shared after the meeting, Amaniyo described the encounter as a significant moment in her leadership journey, noting that Bishop Kiganda’s counsel and blessings would continue to inspire her as she serves the people of Mukono District and fulfills her parliamentary mandate.
“Honored to meet the great man of God, Bishop David Kiganda, who shared words of divine direction, wisdom, and prayer as we embark on our mandate in the 12th Parliament,” Amaniyo said.
The legislator, who recently assumed her role as Shadow Minister for Information and Anti-Corruption, emphasized her commitment to serving Ugandans with integrity, humility, and dedication. She noted that spiritual guidance remains important in leadership, especially at a time when citizens expect accountability and effective representation from their elected leaders.
Amaniyo also used the opportunity to recognize Bishop Kiganda’s contribution to her political growth. She revealed that Kingdom TV was the first television station to host her when she publicly expressed interest in contesting for the Mukono District Woman MP seat.
According to Amaniyo, the exposure she received through the station opened doors and introduced her to wider audiences, ultimately contributing to her political success.
“At the time I first expressed interest in contesting for the position of Woman Member of Parliament, Kingdom TV was the first television station to host me. That opportunity opened many doors and played a significant role in my leadership journey,” she noted.
The legislator said she remains grateful to Bishop Kiganda and Kingdom TV for believing in her at a critical stage of her political aspirations.
