Sulaiman Kiwanuka is set to roll out a major agricultural support initiative involving the distribution of 80,000 cocoa seedlings across Nakifuma County within his first 100 days in office, in fulfillment of a campaign pledge made during the 2026 elections.
According to a proforma invoice circulated within his WhatsApp support group, the seedlings are being procured from Jose Cocoa Nursery and Processing (U) Ltd, a Mukono-based agricultural supplier reportedly owned by Kasawo Town Council Mayor Mr. Mulwana Joseph. The total project value is indicated at UGX 80,000,000, with payment structured as 100% advance.
The distribution plan shows that the seedlings will be shared equally across four key areas of the constituency, with each region receiving 20,000 seedlings. The targeted areas include Kasawo, Namuganga, Kimenyede, and Ntunda, all expected to benefit from the cocoa farming initiative aimed at improving household incomes and boosting agricultural production.
The project gained further attention during the swearing-in period of Kasawo Town Council Mayor Mr. Mulwana Joseph, who reportedly acknowledged public questions regarding the pledge and confirmed that implementation would begin “anytime from now,” signaling readiness for rollout.

Supporters of Kiwanuka have expressed strong confidence in his leadership, noting that he has worked closely with the people of Nakifuma for over six years through community engagement and group-based empowerment programs.
“We believe in our leader Sulaiman Kiwanuka. He has been working with us for years through different groups. This cocoa project will boost cocoa growing in our region and improve people’s standards of living,” one supporter said.
The cocoa seedlings initiative is being viewed as part of wider efforts to strengthen agricultural production in Nakifuma, with cocoa farming increasingly seen as a reliable income-generating activity for rural households.

Kiwanuka is also described as one of the legislators expected to actively work for the people of Nakifuma County, with emphasis on grassroots empowerment and support to community groups.
As implementation approaches, residents across the four beneficiary areas are closely monitoring the rollout of the project, which is now seen as one of the early flagship development initiatives linked to his tenure in Parliament.
